On the basis of material evidence (Egyptian papyri and Campanian tablets), Fara Nasti (University of Cassino and South Latium) has discussed the character and the meaning of lex Aelia Sentia within the large framework of Augustus’ legislation on marriage and children. In the second part of her speech, the scholar has focused on P.Haun. III 45 B2, in particular lines 88-104 verso, in which lex Aelia Sentia is mentioned, and has provided a new fascinating interpretation of this section.
